Zionism Is Not Racism

A public-accountability campaign

The accountability register

Green councillors now face a choice about their political future.

  1. 13 October 2026: Nine days after the vote, the Green Party lifted the suspension of Mohammed Suleman, Newcastle city councillor for Arthur's Hill, suspended before May's elections for reposting a TikTok video that described Jews as "ungrateful, merciless, and without love". The Newcastle Green group said he "knows he has been in the wrong". His return makes the Greens the second-largest party on Newcastle City Council, with 24 councillors. The Jewish Weekly
  2. 12 October 2026: The Telegraph reported WhatsApp messages in which members of Greens for Palestine, the group behind the motion, shared advice on complaining to the party's disciplinary panel about Caroline Lucas, the party's first MP and twice its leader, who had called the motion "dangerous", "divisive" and "flawed from top to bottom". "Lucas needs to be removed," one wrote. A template letter of complaint has been created, the paper reported. The Telegraph
  3. 9 October 2026: Green Party leader Zack Polanski lost the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, five days after his party declared that Zionism is racism. Labour's Sagal Abdi-Wali won with 12,292 votes to his 8,928. HuffPost UK
  4. 7 October 2026: The Campaign Against Antisemitism referred the Green Party to the Equality and Human Rights Commission, asking it to investigate whether the party has discriminated against Jewish members contrary to the Equality Act 2010. Seventeen Labour MPs wrote to the Commission's chair asking it to consider whether the party has broken the law. Campaign Against Antisemitism, Jewish News

On 4 October 2026, the Green Party of England and Wales voted to adopt Motion A105, declaring "Zionism is racism" and committing the party to an anti-Zionist position.

That decision has consequences.

This register is a public-accountability campaign examining what the Green Party's decision means for its councillors, its voters, its Jewish constituents and the future of the party.

The question for every Green councillor

Do you support Motion A105, or do you oppose it?

There is no shortage of Green councillors who will now have to explain their position to their constituents. They can:

  • support Motion A105;
  • oppose Motion A105 while remaining in the Green Party;
  • publicly call for the motion to be reversed;
  • or leave the party.

The public deserves to know which choice each councillor has made.

Why this matters

Motion A105 does not merely criticise the policies of an Israeli government.

It declares the Green Party an anti-Zionist party, supports a single Palestinian state throughout historic Palestine, and calls for Zionism to be treated as a form of racism. Read it line by line, or the motion as issued, with its lists of supporters.

That creates an obvious political question:

Can a councillor who believes that Zionism is not racism continue to represent a party that has formally declared that it is?

And an equally important question for voters:

Do Green voters know what their local councillor thinks about Motion A105?

The Green councillor accountability register

A public record of Green councillors' positions, by region and council. For each councillor: name, ward, their position on Motion A105 (backed it, signed the pledge against it, called for its reversal by staying to fight it, or left the Green Party), and the public statement or source.

No anonymous claims. No rumours. No invented positions. Just what councillors themselves have said or done, with publicly available evidence: the motion's own printed lists of supporters, the pledge they signed on this site in their own name, or their recorded departure from the party. A councillor with nothing on the record is listed as exactly that.

  • 47 supported the motion
  • 6 signed the pledge against it
  • 2 have left the party
  • 1268 no public position recorded

What will your councillor do? Ask them.

  1. Do you support Motion A105?
  2. Do you believe Zionism is racism?
  3. Do you support the Green Party's anti-Zionist position?
  4. Will you campaign for the motion to be reversed?
  5. If not, what is your position?

And ask them to put their answer on the record: a Green councillor can sign the pledge in a minute, and the answer goes on this register the same day.

Public accountability, not abuse

This campaign is about political accountability.

  • Do not threaten councillors.
  • Do not harass them.
  • Do not contact them repeatedly.
  • Do not publish private information.

Ask legitimate political questions, request an answer, record the response and let voters decide what they think.

The leadership question

The Green Party is led by Zack Polanski. The question now is whether the party's leadership can maintain political credibility while defending a position that has generated such intense controversy.

The issue is bigger than one conference motion. Political parties depend upon elected representatives being willing to defend the positions adopted in their name. When a party adopts a controversial position, councillors have to decide whether they can continue to stand under that banner. For Green councillors, Motion A105 makes that question unavoidable.

This register will document what happens next.

You can't be anti-racist and antisemitic.

Zionism is anti-racism.
