Cllr Andy Brown
I oppose this motion and intend to stay and fight it but I have a long record of not signing pledges around Israel/Palestine issues as I prefer to use my own words and be in control of how they are used
Said so 13 Oct 2026 16:05
What Andy said
“I do not support the Green Party's "Zionism is Racism" motion.” A first step, short of the full pledge.
In their words: “I oppose this motion and intend to stay and fight it but I have a long record of not signing pledges around Israel/Palestine issues as I prefer to use my own words and be in control of how they are used”

Cllr Hema Yellapragada
Warwick Myton & Heathcote, Warwick District
As an active member of SACRE & local Faith Forums, I work to build understanding between faiths and communities. This motion risks division, does nothing to ease Palestinian suffering, and distracts from pressing local and climate priorities. I oppose all racism & discrimination.
Signed 12 Oct 2026 15:16
What Hema pledged
- 1. I do not support Motion A105. Zionism is not racism.Zionism is not a term that can be redefined to suit a position. Zionism is simply the belief that Jewish people, like the French, the Irish or the Palestinians, have the right to a homeland of their own. Is that racist? No. Pledged
- 2. I will treat antisemitism as racism.I will report it through the same channels as any other racism. I will represent Jewish residents of my ward as fully as anyone else. Pledged
3. Intends to stay in the Party to fight Motion A105.

Cllr Eleanor Laming
I voted against the motion and was sad and concerned to see it passed. The wording oversimplified the issue and was alienating. We should work for a future where Palestinians, Israelis and all communities, can live in freedom, security and prosperity.

This motion goes against the Green principle of global solidarity, does nothing to help the plight of the Palestinian people and is a gross distraction from all the important work we are doing in our communities as Green councillors.

Cllr Paul Neale
Not all Zionists are racist but the current Israeli government is. There must be a stop to occupying Palestinian Land and returning it as decreed by the United Nations. We must all work together to create a 2 nation state in current Israel.

For Green councillors and MPs
Sign the pledge
Green councillors and MPs: enter your council email address. We email you a six-digit code; type it in and you are through to the pledge form. No password, no account, one minute.
Some spam filters are blocking our emails at the moment. We are working on solving it. Until then, the code may not reach you, so:
- Use the sign-in link in an earlier email from us. Any email we have sent you still signs you in: open it and press the button.
- Or email us at pledge@zionismisnotracism.co.uk from your council or parliamentary address, either with your WhatsApp number, and we will send your sign-in link there, or with your pledge or endorsement in the email, and we will put it up on the site for you.
We never store your address beyond the pledge itself, and send it nothing but a thank-you when you sign. Not on the list, or your address has changed? Tell us.
Not in your inbox? Check your junk or spam folder. Council email systems often file a first email from a new sender as junk, or hold it in quarantine. The code comes from pledge@zionismisnotracism.co.uk; mark it as safe and the next one lands in your inbox.
One sign-in for everything: the same code also opens your secure inbox, if the campaign has written to you.
Once you are in, two ways to be counted. Sign the pledge and stay in the Party to fight the motion (3), or resign from the Party due to it (4). Either way, you are taken off this campaign's email lists the same day.
Not ready for all of it? Start with one sentence, in your own name: "I do not support the Green Party's 'Zionism is Racism' motion." It is one press once you are signed in, or email it from your council address to pledge@zionismisnotracism.co.uk.
For Green councillors
Why sign
- It is on the record. Your name, ward and council, with the date, on a page anyone can check.
- It answers your constituents. Jewish residents of your ward can see where you stand without having to write and ask.
- It stops the emails. Councillors who have signed are taken out of this campaign's email lists the same day.
- It may protect you. Consider that, by signing, you may help mitigate any legal action taken against you personally for supporting racism.
